Day 1 From Devon to Bere Regis

We decided our best option was break up the journey a bit. So on day 1 we travelled from Devon to Bere Regis in Dorset. A fairly straight forward journey from Exeter along the A35, but unfortunately there had been a major traffic accident on the A35 that day and we had to take a major detour. A minor inconvenience for us, but life changing for the people involved in the accident.

We finally arrived at our site Rowlands Wait Touring Park a lovely small park set away from the main road. It was peaceful, well kept and not too busy. The owners were very friendly, and on our arrival (we had called ahead to let them know we had been delayed) tried their very best to help us settle in.  And supplying take away menus for the local pub.

Shower and Toilet Block

The shower and toilet facilities at the park were kept very clean and there was even a small play park for children. We left this park and travelled onto the Chichester Camping and Caravan Club Site.

On the way there we called at some Motorway Services how frustrating to read the signs about improper parking resulting in fines. Unfortunately there were no caravan parking places left. Why? because they were being used by motorists that didn't need them.
